An eminent business personality Mr. Yawar Khan has been living in this country since 1973. After arrival in the UK he stayed three months only in London and then he moved to Swindon where he completed a diploma course in English Language from the Swindon College. Alongside his study in the Swindon College he worked in the weekends in his restaurant there. Later on he moved to the central London late 1975 and joined Tajmahal Restaurant owned by his father where he, alongside this job studied in the Westminster College in London and completed a business Diploma Course. There after he opened his own business ‘’Akash Tandoori Restaurant’’ at Wallington, Surrey which he has been running since 1977. He is also engaged with some other business including real estate sector.
Mr. Yawar Khan is fond of sports and music. He likes playing tennis, Mountain skinning, Cycling, Swimming etc.
He is involved with Rotary Club since1987. He has been with Bangladesh Caterers Association in its national executive committee since 1985 and he was the Vice-President of it for few terms. He is also the life member of Bangladesh Welfare Association Croydon, member of Small Business Federation and Sutton Chamber of Commerce & Industry. He is also the member of Bangladesh British Chamber of Commerce UK and Grater Sylhet Development & Welfare Council UK.
On 16th December 2008 he along with others formed a new organization ‘Federation of Bangladeshi Caterers UK’ for the promotion and development of catering sector in UK. To raise a strong voice for the interest of Bangladeshi Caterers Industry in the UK. At present he is acting as the founding Chairman of this prestigious organization.
Mr. Yawar Khan who is also a courageous and visionary leader aims at forming a separate platform to bring about a change in the catering industry and seeks support from the members of the newly formed organization ‘Federation of Bangladeshi Caterers UK’ for the purpose. |
