President
Mr Yawar Khan
The Federation's visionary president Yawar Khan has lived in the UK since 1973. He is an eminent business personality and restaurateur of the famous Akash Tandoori Restaurant in Wallington, Surrey.
After his arrival in the UK from Bangladesh, Yawar Khan studied at Swindon College, working at weekends in a local restaurant. In late 1975 he joined the Taj Mahal restaurant owned by his father, also gaining a Business Diploma from Westminster College in London. In 1977 he was able to open his own establishment in Wallington which is now one of the longest established and most successful Bangladeshi restaurants in the area.
He works tirelessly to further the interests of the Asian catering sector, to aid the community and the country of his birth. He is actively involved in a formidable number of business and charitable organisation including the Bangladesh Welfare Association, the Rotary Club, the Small Business Federation, Sutton Chamber of Commerce as well as being a member of Bangladesh British Chamber of Commerce UK and of the Greater Sylhet Development and Welfare Council UK.
As a former Vice President of Bangladesh Caterers Association, Mr Khan founded the Federation with the aim of uniting the whole of the Asian catering business

Mr Hazi Abdul Boshor
As a businessman and community worker, Haji Abdul Boshor has links with social and welfare organisations in both the UK and Bangladesh. Having grown up in the village of South Chattarpai of Bhadgaon Union, Chattak Upazilla under the Sunamgonj district of Greater Sylhet, Mr Boshur moved to Bedfordshire in the UK and is well known for establishing the Ayesha Foundation through which he runs a mosque named Masjide Mustafa in Biggleswade. As an expatriate Bangladeshi Mr Boshur is dedicated to different activities for the welfare of Bangladesh and works to develop regional based volunteer organisations. He has also set up other projects and educational institutions including madrasas in Sylhet and Chhatak in Bangladesh.

Mr MD Anwar Hussian
Anwar Hussian is a businessman operating in South Croydon where he has run the famed Coriander Takeaway for many years. In addition to his role as General Secretary for the FoBC, Mr Hossain has also worked in the capacity of General Secretary to the Bangladesh Welfare Association in Croydon for five years, having been an executive member of this historical organisation for the past ten years. He is also treasurer of the Asad Ghazi Foundation UK.

Syed Musharaf Hussain came to the UK in 1985 after his graduation. He is a prominent business man in the Wallington area in Surrey and treasurer of the FoBC since its inception in 2008.

Raja Ali originally trained in Law and after completing his Masters degree in International Law, he moved to work in the City where he was responsible for the firm’s corporate clients based in USA and Hong Kong. He was then seconded to a Coca Cola franchise holder in Bangladesh to help write their business model and to implement the recommendation. He was responsible for the financial negotiations and identifying the opportunities in that market. Raja was involved with a private Indian venture capital initiative to look at renewable energy in India and was a consultant to the group who put a bid together for the first Indian textile park for a regional government. Raja is now the Managing Partner of the IBD Partnership which acts as consultants to many organisations all over the world dealing with International trade development, market entry or exit strategies and corporate partnerships.
Raja has served as a Special Envoy to Bangladesh. He has an active interest in helping adults who have suffered from an acquired brain injury and also to create awareness of brain injury within the community.

Mr Peter Renfrew
Peter has many years of experience working in business and public relations. As a former general managing director of leading BMW and Audi companies and a business owner, he has first-hand understanding of the need for effective marketing and communications. Since 2001, he has worked in advertising and PR in the UK and Europe and now runs his own PR company. Peter has strong connections with Bangladesh, Spain and India where he has been actively engaged in encouraging business links with the UK.

Zoë Renfrew
Zoe is a freelance writer with nine years' professional experience as a sub-editor, proof reader and features writer. She holds a BA Honours Degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Reading, a post-graduate diploma in commerce from the York College of Technology and has worked as a PA, features writer, proof-reader, sub-editor, quality co-ordinator and editorial assistant at local and international newspapers and magazines based in the UK, Europe and Asia. Zoe also has a wide experience of writing promotional literature and has produced copy for many websites, blogs and social networking profiles.
